What's new? A lot of things...
I'm currently psyched about the good turn of events. GOD surely loves me for who I am.

Hurrah! I passed all my subjects...they're good, yeah. But I am gravely disappointed with my grade in my taxation subject! Darn, I know I deserve a grade better than a 3.

You see, it's not that I'm bragging but I've got a pretty good prelim grade in that subject -- a 78. Most of my classmates got 65, or 60, etcetera, etcetera (and the highest that I've heard is 80). My professor calls me to recite almost every meeting, and I am ready with my solutions to the problems 90% of the time. I know I made a mess in the finals period but I don't think it'll really bring my grade down to a 3. I recited a lot of times and I know I participated (and studied for it...somehow) and this is the grade that I'll get. Some of my classmates who aren't called to recite or haven't recited for even 3 times for the whole semester (and some didn't even bother to pass the 1/4 yellow papers) got a higher grade and it was f*ckin' annoying. Where the hell did he get those grades? My other classmate got 2.5 in his subject yet he didn't recite as frequent as I did (and he's got a lower prelim grade than mine), let alone was ready to answer with solutions to the problems. Oh well, 3 is better than a 5.

Goodness.

But the rest are great. I am so shocked with the grade I've had in Advanced Accounting (I was actually expecting a 5 or a 3 but Sir G gave me 2.75! Yahoo!), thankful that I have managed to get the same grade in Law and Management Services (I did the worst job in answering the final exams...), contented with my grade in computer and B.A., and so proud to have a 1.75 in Aud Theory. Yeah, I know these grades aren't as high as the sky but hey, in these times, PASSING is more of a concern than BEING ON TOP (unless you're hoping to be graduate Magna Cum Laude).
And congratulations to all of my classmates who did well too...Jo, JanePride, Ate Cyndi, Dianne, etc.

Anyhoo, I'd like to congratulate Mr.Smith Lim (previous batch's Magna Cum Laude) for landing in the 4th spot (Top 10 CPA Board Passers). Congratulations to all of the Thomasians who passed! Woohoo! UST still produced the most CPAs!

From The Philippine Star:
Top Performing Schools in the October 2006 CPA exam:
*with 100 and more examinees:
1. UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS (74%)
2. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (36%)
3. Ateneo De Davao University (28%)
Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta.Mesa (28%)
*with 51 to 99 examinees:
1. University of the Philippines-Diliman (98%)
2. University of San Carlos (60%)

TOPNOTCHERS FROM UST:

74% may be lower than the previous 86% but hey, it's already freakin' high! Batchmates, kaya nating pantayan (O taasan) yan! Go! (and how I badly wished I'd graduate this May 2007...So help me God)

Law. Whew. I survived my first 3 Law subjects without ever buying a book, and now it seems that I should buy one this time. There's news that our previous prof will be replaced, and the prof who will replace him ALWAYS conducts GRADED RECITATION.
Computer. I don't know what to expect. Good thing there's no Computer Laboratory -- no extra hours on the schedule! Yay!
BA. Hay. I thought that if I'll take Accountancy as my major, I'll bid those B.A. lessons goodbye. Too bad I'm so darn wrong.
Marriage and Family. Need I say more? I hope the professor will be, you know, somewhat honest, straight-to-the-point and a bit outspoken when discussing things involved. I wouldn't want a prof too reserved (about the subject matter and it's HARSH realities...) to discuss things like a monk nor too vulgar. Just the right thing, please.
AdVac 2. Haay. Change prof. How can I survive again?
Management Accounting. Another Haaaaay. When will they get enough of Management Accounting???
Business Ethics. Roar. Somehow I feel that Accounting students don't really need this one. But who knows? I've got no idea.
Aud Problems. The ultimate killing machine. The known terminator subject. Am I ready for it?
Got a lot of things to ponder on...but for now let me surf the net until dawn, hang out with my boob tube for hours, and sleep like dead until afternoon. Enjoy while it lasts. When this semester starts for sure I won't have time for these trivial (yet exciting) stuffs anymore. I might be on HIATUS if necessary (if my grades call for it!).
Gotta go. More news next time. I'm too lazy to blog now.
