Ooops, it's not what you're thinking about. Naughty you.
When you're learning how to ride a bike, you'll definitely stumble, get bruises, and embarass yourself.
It's just the same when you're learning to drive (in my case, at least)
And last Saturday, November 15, 2008, I've just done one of the worst "katangahans" of all time.
Nagasgasan/semi-bangga ko yung bago naming Innova.
Well, I didn't really bump into something.
When I was about to turn right sa street namin, I noticed na maraming naka-park sa kalsada (mga leche, hindi magpagawa ng sariling parking lot sa loob ng bahay. Ka-tontohan talaga). And the amateur driver that I am kicked in: nagmadali ako masyadong mag-maneuver ng manibela pakanan, and then since gabi na, hindi ko naman makita sa side mirror sa other side na although malapit sa gutter eh meron palang naka-usling sementong paso dun sa edge ng gutter.
And then, "boom". May tumunog...
Joan: "Uy, may tumunog!"
Ako: *profanities* "may nabangga ako!" *profanities again*
Hay. Yeah, I know, it's really immature of me to blame it on these mofos who buy cars when they don't have a parking lot inside their houses. How stupid of me (wow sarcastic). And I know it's really immature of me to blame it on the narrow streets. Talagang maraming ganyan sa 'Pinas.
Well, I admit that I really am stupid. First, I turned at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Second, I didn't exercise proper diligence because I didn't try my best (or shall I say, I forgot to) to check out my side mirrors.
Hay, ang tonto talaga. And sobrang na-stress ako. When my mom saw it, of course she was angry, pero pinagsabihan nya lang ako, kasi ipapagawa ko naman yun. But imagine if I didn't have the money to pay for the damage -- she'll be skinning me alive for that mistake.
So yon. Matindi yung gasgas kasi concrete nga yung nasangga nya. May dent pa. Badtrip.
Well, sabi ng pinsan ko, talagang you'll never learn how to drive daw nang hindi mo mararanasang mabangga (or mahuli ng police).
Hehe :p
But still, I'm thankful to God dahil...
2. Dahil mahina lang yung pagkaka-sanggi ko dun sa side mirror nung isang kotse (namove lang yung side mirror, di naman natanggal or something) or else dagdag danyos pa yun
3. Dahil hindi ako nakabangga ng other cars
and lastly...
Hay...ang nakakainis ay araw-araw kong nadadaanan yung pasong semento na yon...and everyday it reminds me of my stupidity.
Part of life.
I'm never gonna drive THAT car again. Mamumulubi ako sa gastos.
Bibili nalang ako ng luma. Haha. (as if may pambili)

Workaholic
4:28 AM - Saturday, November 08, 2008
I think I'm slowly turning into a workaholic freak.
Wala lang. I was transferred from Philippines Group A to Philippines Group B account kasi there was a change of roles. Then my new immediate supervisor told me to go to work today to finish other stuff.
Well, MANY, IF NOT ALL employees will be downright cursing their bosses if they're asked to do this. Let's be honest: no employee wants to go to work on a Saturday and every employee wants to sleep all day, pig out all day, go out on gimmicks all day, surf the net all day, go to the gym all day, or just slack all day on a Saturday.
Yun nga lang, wala tayong choice.
But I think I'm weird kasi the moment I was climbing up the Nestle stairs this morning, I was super effing happy and grinning like an idiot.
Well, I'm thrilled to say that I love my job so much.
And if my immediate supervisor tells me next Friday that I still have to go to work on a Saturday, I think I will still be super-effing happy.
Maybe it's the pay. Nope. The OT pay's not that big. O baka sadyang mukha lang talaga akong pera. Hahaha.
And then there's a deep-red emergency light (or should I say Neon Lights) blinking above my head: OLD MAID IN THE MAKING!
Haha. I definitely need to work up my social life.

To CC or not to CC?!

CREDIT CARDS. Hay.
For weeks, I've been thinking of getting one but I haven't decided yet. (well, 95% of my mind says yes but 5% says no). Haha. Parang nahirapan akong mag-decide, noh?!
Well, why get a credit card? For me, I'm not getting it to flash and go crazy with shopping sprees -- kuripot pa nga ako, actually, (except kapag usapang pagkain). I'm gonna get it so that I can use the basic things that I have learned as an accounting student.
Sabi nga sa accounting, "COLLECT YOUR RECEIVABLES EARLY, POSSIBLY DURING THE DISCOUNT PERIOD, AND STRETCH YOUR PAYABLES UP TO THE END OF THE CREDIT TERM" (Wow, NERD TALK). And let's concentrate on the payables part.
Kasi ganito yan. You have cash, right? But it is better that you don't pay all your purchases with cash kasi you'll never know when you're gonna need them (so it's really good when you've got savings). Then if you want to buy something, let's say, an iPod Touch worth 23000+ (haha presyong Power Mac Center, halatang nag-canvass na) -- it won't be good to drop that amount of money in such short time -- I think mas OK if you pay it in installments, BUT, as they say in the accounting world, EVERYTHING'S GOT AN OPPORTUNITY COST -- may interest ang lahat. Yes, may interest. Well, my example isn't realistic but that's the general idea.
And besides, it saves time.
Well, nandyan yung biggest international credit card company, pero I've heard so many negative feedbacks kaya parang ayaw ko (and besides, mukhang masyado silang mapili sa clients -- I don't think someone like me who hasn't worked for a year yet has a chance) and besides super laki ng finance charge. Marami pang ibang nagki-claim to have the lowest finance charges and lenient sa applicants pero accepted locally lang naman yung CC. Pero may pinagpipilian na akong 2:
BPI Edge Card - the only CC that applies interest on your previous month balance, excluding your most recent purchases (ex. Beginning of June, your balance is 10,100. Then June 20, you bought something worth 5,000. THen June 23, billing date, your interest runs only for the 10,000 -- the interest for the 5,000 applies next month pa) saka doon din naman yung payroll account ko.
Hehe. Yep, 3.5% finance charge but has HIGH credit limit.
I'm choosing between the two pero ang hirap. Parang ayaw ko namang kumuha ng dalawa. Nakaka-tuksong gumastos. Ahahaha.
Give me advice nalang. :p Thanks :p
Credit Cards: They are plastic cards to purchase your dream stuff or weapons of self-destruction. Well, it all depends on how you use it. Good luck nalang sa akin.
