And since there's nothing interesting about my life right now, I decided to shift into "showbiz chismis mode".

Last Sunday at Showbiz Central, Vicky Belo was interviewed by the ever-twised DJ Mo Twister (Hail Good Times with Mo!) on his segment Gimme Mo. Then they've discussed the very heated rivalry between Belo and the Calayans -- that it is as big as the network wars already. And then, Belo came up (actually, it's Mo's idea) with a very witty response (and I quote):

"First of all, I felt really bad kasi ako naman ang nag umpisa ng mga bati bati ng mga artista, di ba? And it was years ago, so I feel bad kasi ginagaya lang nila ako. Sana naman magkaroon naman sila ng sarili nilang unique, ano.. marketing ano.. And all I would like to say is, If you want to look like BOY ABUNDA, go to Doctor Calayan, If you want to look like Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual, go to Belo."

Wahahaha! And from that moment on, I stopped hating Vicky Belo (used to hate before because I have this huge crush on Hayden Kho).

Of course, a statement like that will create controversy. And then, next day, Boy Abunda shows up crying like a baby, claiming that he's been hurt and saying "Alam mo namang never akong namuhunan sa panlabas kong anyo, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah..."

Ugh. The hypocrisy is nauseating!!!

So okay, let me tell you the "chismis" why Belo's and Abunda's friendship fell apart.

Kasi, Boy used to endorse Vicky's business. Then, Boy was offered a bigger talent fee by Calayan, eh ang lola mo mukhang pera, so he transferred to Calayan. And what's worse is his tagline in his new advertisement is "I deserve better".

Wow. That's like a punch in the face (if we're talking about real men, but since it is Boy Abunda that we're talking about, well, erm, you get the picture -- a slap in the face).

Trading friendship for money isn't always a good thing.

So yeah, its water under the bridge.

And then Belo comes up with this funny-but-SUPER-TRUE joke about him and he's pissed?!

And I'm like, "What? You lambast so many people on a daily basis because of your job as a "chismis show host" (but I don't think he's doing that for the money but because it's fun for him) and now that someone made a joke on you, you cry?". I don't think he's in the right place to cry and complain -- you're just having a dose of your own medicine, my friend.

And besides, the comparison was LOGICAL because he's the main endorser of the Calayans while Piolo and Dingdong are the main endorsers of the Belo Medical Group.

Eh kundi ba naman "tonto" sila Calayan eh bakit nila kinuha si Boy as endorser. Your business is about cosmetic surgery and making people LOOK GREAT, for crying out loud!!!

And then Manny Calayan defends Boy by saying "what we're really promoting is inner beauty...". Yeah right, stop BS-ing the people.

Hay nako, Boy, what's worse? Being called by your former best friend an ugly creature (though implied) or having your best friend leave you for your competitor because of money?!

Hay hay. Vicky Belo through and through!!!
